Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of working women in supporting the family's economic welfare. The subjects of this research are female workers in Jeringo Village who work at the Morinaga bakery factory. The type of research is a case study with a qualitative approach. The informants were determined using purposive sampling, involving female bakery factory workers. Data collection methods through interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Test the validity of the data by applying source triangulation techniques and adequacy of references. The research results show that the contribution of working women has a significant positive impact in improving the overall welfare of the family. In the economic aspect, working women help increase family income, so that basic needs are better met. In the educational aspect, additional income makes it possible to finance children's schools and supporting facilities. Meanwhile, in the health aspect, they play a role in maintaining family hygiene and ensuring the family gets good nutritional intake. Based on family welfare indicators, working women are at welfare levels I, II and III. Apart from that, factors that influence women to work include internal factors such as economic needs, the desire to help their husbands, and awareness of the importance of women's roles; as well as external factors such as social environmental pressures, limited education, and job opportunities available around where you live.
