Internalization Of Value Ecotheology Through Arabic Language Learning At Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

Abstract

The increasingly complex environmental crisis demands an educational approach that is not only oriented towards the mastery of knowledge, but also on the formation of students' ecological awareness. In the context of Islamic education, ecotheology is one of the relevant paradigms to integrate religious values with concern for the environment. This article aims to examine the concept of internalizing Islamic ecotheological values through learning Arabic at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI). This study uses a library research approach by analyzing various literature on Islamic ecotheology, environmental education, and Arabic language learning. The results of the study show that learning Arabic has strategic potential as a medium for internalizing ecotheological values because language materials can be contextualized with environmental themes sourced from the Qur'an and Hadith. Values such as amanah, caliph fil ardh, balance (mīzān), responsibility, and concern for nature can be integrated into the objectives, materials, methods, and evaluation of Arabic language learning. The integration not only improves students' language competence, but also forms an ecological character that is in accordance with Islamic teachings. Thus, learning Arabic based on ecotheology can be an alternative to strengthening continuing education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
