Politik dan Cinta Tanah Air dalam Perspektif Islam (Political Principle and Love for the Homeland in the Islamic Perspective)

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between politics and love for the homeland from an Islamic perspective, focusing on the role of justice, trustworthiness (amanah), and consultation (musyawarah) in fostering civic awareness. Politics in Islam is not merely a mechanism of power, but also a means to uphold public welfare and ethical governance. Love for the homeland is considered a moral and social responsibility for Muslims, manifested through active participation in national life and fulfilling citizens’ rights and obligations. The study examines Qur’anic verses such as QS An-Nisa’ 58 on justice, QS Asy-Syura 38 on consultation, and authentic hadiths highlighting the Prophet Muhammad’s love for Makkah, as normative foundations for understanding civic duty. Furthermore, the article highlights the relevance of Islamic principles in shaping ethical, responsible, and patriotic behavior, particularly within the context of nation-building in Indonesia. This approach aims to demonstrate how Islamic teachings can serve as a guideline for fostering ethical and integrity-driven nationalism.
