Abstrak

Socio-emotional readiness and fine motor engagement represent foundational dimensions of early childhood development that require appropriate pedagogical stimulation. This study aims to examine and describe the implementation of an integrative teaching approach combining firm behavioral boundaries with emotional warmth ("firm outside, soft inside") and the resulting behavioral transformations in children aged 4–5 years at KB Sinar Mulia. The study employed a qualitative exploratory single-case study design (N = 1) involving a child who exhibited severe separation anxiety, recurrent temper tantrums, and impulsive aggressive behavior. Data were gathered through structured participatory observations over 12 weeks (60 daily sessions), in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and anecdotal record analysis utilizing the Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC) model. Data analysis followed the interactive framework of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings demonstrate that consistent rule enforcement grounded in emotional support effectively eliminated separation anxiety, reduced tantrum frequency to 0%, and fostered independent learning behaviors as well as public performance confidence. The study concludes that firmness balanced with internal emotional warmth functions as an effective psychological scaffolding in cultivating autonomy, emotional resilience, and character formation in early childhood education.
