Abstract

The family of Prophet Muhammad SAW represents a primordial locus in the formation of human character within Islamic education. However, contemporary educational practices often separate textual, rational, and spiritual dimensions in a partial manner, resulting in epistemological disintegration in the formation of individuals. This study aims to analyze the structure of bayani, burhani, and irfani epistemologies reflected in the Prophet’s family and examine their implications for the formation of the Islamic human being. The research employs a qualitative conceptual approach through library research by examining classical Islamic sources and contemporary literature as the main analytical instruments. The findings reveal that the bayani dimension is reflected in the centrality of revelation and prophetic exemplarity as the normative foundation of family education. The burhani dimension appears in dialogical practices and the strengthening of rationality within family relations, while the irfani dimension is manifested through spiritual cultivation and deep internalization of moral values. The integration of these three epistemologies produces a holistic and balanced model of human formation. The study emphasizes the importance of reconstructing contemporary Islamic education by repositioning the family as the primary locus that integrates textual, rational, and spiritual dimensions in shaping morally grounded and spiritually oriented individuals.
