Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of resilience in children from broken homes. Resilience is understood as a child's ability to recover from stress, manage emotions, adapt, and maintain positive functioning, even in an incomplete family situation. The study used a qualitative case study approach with three male subjects from different family backgrounds, and data were collected through observation and interviews. The results showed that all three subjects possessed resilience reflected in emotional management, the ability to build positive social relationships, an optimistic attitude towards the future, a focus on goals, and the ability to analyze problems realistically. Resilience is formed not only through internal factors but also from external support from friends, family, and the environment. Thus, resilience is an important asset for children to continue to develop adaptively even when facing an incomplete family or broken home.
